MapHacking
A downloadable Tech Pack
MapHacking is a Tech Pack (see the Brain Trust Tech Jam for more info!) on using Google Maps' Search Nearby algorithm as a gameplay randomizer.
This document includes an overview on how the mechanic is used, as well as an example game: Keeping Watch, a supplement for fantasy RPGs that uses MapHacking to create added drama while making camp and keeping watch.
This was created as part of the ongoing The Games We Made Along the Way game design challenge series; for more information, head to Plus2Comedy's Twitch channel!

A new similar game called WPlace has recently been released. Just like this one, it allows placing pixel blocks on Google Maps. I've created a wplace pixel tool to assist with placement, and it might also be useful for this game.
